  1. I do not want anyone else to be harmed by this inept practitioner the way I have been. During the course of providing mental health ‘care’ to a family member, this individual took it upon herself to suggest a specific, severe mental health diagnosis for me. She had met me exactly one time, when, at her request, I participated in a joint session with her and my family member. Had she wanted more information on me, she actually could have walked down the hall and talked to a therapist I had seen for several months following a traumatic event in my life. She then would have learned my correct diagnosis. If a release form needed to be signed, she could have and should have requested I sign one. She also could have inquired as to whether I had recently tried any medication that I had reacted negatively to (I had), or she could have simply dealt with the matter at hand, and the client who was directly in front of her face. To suggest any diagnosis for someone who is not your patient is highly inappropriate and frankly made my own mental health worse and put unnecessary stress on a marriage that was already experiencing stress. I know it is hard to find any mental health provider at all in Montana, but I truly feel it would be better to receive no help at all than to have your situation made very much worse by an incompetent unprofessional who fails to follow established rules of practice and professionalism.
